Medical Evacuation
Medical evacuation, also referred to as medevac, medivac or med evac, is the transfer of a patient from one hospital to another. This usually occurs because the patient is seriously ill and requires medical care only available at another hospital, or the patient becomes ill or injured while travelling and seeks to continue their care at a facility closer to home. Medical evacuation generally requires a private air ambulance and in-flight medical staff.
